We
have again arrived at the time for our annual newsletter.
As has happened in past years we have lost some of our comrades and
it will soon be time to pay our respects to those who have gone before.
At our April 15th meeting, we will be nominating and
electing officers for the next fiscal year, 2002 - 2003.
At the March 18th meeting, we will be accepting
nominations for officers. We will be selling Poppies this year during the Buddy Poppy days of May 10th and the 11th and hope that all members can participate. On
Sunday, May 26th at 2:00 p.m., we will be conducting a Memorial
Day Ceremony at Lincoln Township
cemetery. On designated
Memorial Day, Monday the 27th, we will assemble at the White
Cloud Library for a flag raising ceremony and start of the parade to the
cemetery where we will conduct our veterans ceremony.
The Homecoming celebration and parade will be held the first
weekend in August. There will be an Annual Dinner for active members and their spouses in September.
We invite all veterans to participate in the parades and activities
and VFW members to attend the meetings every third Monday at the Newaygo
County Senior Center in White Cloud at 7:30 p.m.
